Those of us that have had to deal with pet loss know that it is an extremely painful feeling to go through. Have you recently lost a pet? Do you have that feeling of hopelessness or just an empty feeling. Well you are not alone. The grieving part comes with the territory.
Sure we will miss our pets. They were part of the family for years. Whether it was from sickness or old age, when that dreadful day comes, we will have to take a deep breath and learn to forge on. I have heard so many sad stories of pet owners that lost their pets. Seems like a great idea to have an outlet to discuss pet loss.
For me, I just lost a pet bird that was with me for 26 years which I will get into another time but he was the inspiration for me to start this blog. The loss of my bird hit me hard when I never thought it would. It was an empty feeling. I wanted to talk about it but who's going to understand it. If someone told me they had a pet bird that died and they had a connection with it, I probably would say they were crazy. But now it has happened to me and here I am without this creature that found his way into my life and became an everyday fixture. He became more than just a bird that was in a cage. He rode with me through my twenties, thirties and mid way into my forties. We bonded and he became ever so dependant on me as I did of home.
What are your stories. More of my bird on the next post.
